Argon Medical Expands Interventional Oncology Portfolio with SeQure® and DraKon™ Microcatheters

On January 14, 2025, Argon Medical Devices announced the acquisition of the SeQure® and DraKon™ microcatheters from Accurate Medical Therapeutics, Ltd., previously distributed by Guerbet SA. This acquisition bolsters Argon’s offerings for interventional oncology by adding therapeutic devices to its established diagnostic oncology product line, which includes biopsy devices.

Microcatheters, including SeQure and DraKon, are essential instruments in interventional oncology for the direct delivery of therapeutic agents or devices to tumors or abnormalities through small blood vessels. The SeQure microcatheter is distinguished by its unique reflux control feature, which creates a fluid barrier to enhance the precision of therapeutic delivery. DraKon is recognized for its enhanced hydrophilic coating, ease of navigation, and compatibility with contrast agents and embolics, even through challenging vascular pathways.

Dr. Neal Khurana, co-founder of EmboPartners and an interventional radiologist, praised the microcatheters for their reliability and performance in minimally invasive procedures. He highlighted their trackability and efficient delivery capabilities as critical factors in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
